Style playground: About

Styleplayground is my daily fashion diary.
It's the place where I share my looks, what I love or hate, the places I visit and the good tips I have.

I created it on the first of February 2010. It was firsted named acidbarbie fashion spot but I decided to change the name into styleplayground during summer 2010.

As a teenager, I also had a couple of blogs where I talked about style and party but I closed them since then.

For the last three years, I've been a reader of fashion blogs. It was something I really liked from the begining. It's nice to see how people dress in different country, how they adapt trends for themselves. I decided to start one myself to share what I like but to also get in touch with people that have the same passion than me.

I am really glad that I already met so many great people and that I've been invited to a bunch of amazing events! I can't wait to see what's next!

Why styleplayground?

Simply because I wanted something that reflects my vision about style and fashion a little bit more. To me, fashion and mostly style is general has to be something fun and that you like to play with. I love to experiment new things and see how I feel about them. Just like we younger did in a playground!

A little more about myself?

Well, I am 21 years old and I am currently living in Brussels. I was born and raised in Brussels, Belgium where I gratuated from high school in 2007. When I was in Belgium, I studied subjects like history and Latin despite the fact that I knew I wanted to work in fashion. I then decided to go to a boarding school in England for a year, where I studied textiles, photography, art and business. I didn't really enjoyed my time there but it really helped me improved my work.

In 2008 I started a fashion school in Paris named Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne. I really enjoyed my first year there but the second one was awful for me. I am really bad at drawing (I know that's a shame when you study fashion!), the more I draw, the less it improved. I really tried but none of my teachers seemed to take that in consideration. Also, I felt like I didn't really learned anything during that second year so, I thought it was time for a change.

Between April and September 2010, I did an internship at Christophe Coppens, a hat and accessory maker in Belgium. I really enjoyed my time there and I learned so many new things.

During my third year in Paris, I toon evening classes of styling and I interned in various companies during Paris Fashion Week.

I am now back in Brussels, where I live with my boyfriend. If feels good to be back home but the travelling bee in me is already planning to live abroad in the coming years!

In October 2011, I co founded the online magazine Insignificant with three blogger friends (Marie, Eva, Kathleen).
We share eveything that we love in fashion, beauty and lifestyle.
We also love to share good adresses, especially in Belgium.
